Please be aware and inform others that Denver Public Works is planning to close the entire intersection at East 18th Avenue & York Street this weekend for re-paving. The intersection will close at 8:30 am Friday 24th June and re-open at 8 pm Sunday 26th June.
Public Works has provided the following street closing and detour information:
Location of work: Intersection of York and Josephine Streets at E 18th Avenue.
Purpose: Remove and replace asphalt roadway for entire intersection.
Traffic impact: Weekend closure with full detour routes.
“Road Closed” signs at the following locations:
Westbound E 17th Ave at City Park Esplanade. Local traffic will be allowed to go west of Colorado Blvd. Through traffic will be told to use Colorado, south to Colfax or north to E 23rd Avenue.
Northbound Josephine Street at E 17th Avenue. Local traffic will be allowed to go north of Colfax to E 17th Ave. Through traffic will be told to use Colfax, west to Downing or east to Colorado.
Southbound York Street at E 20th Avenue. Local traffic will be allowed to go south of E 23rd Ave to E 20th Avenue. Through traffic will be told to use E 23rd Ave, east to Colorado, or E 20th Ave, west to Downing.
East bound 17th Avenue will remain open.
